The first, and major, project of this tour is the creation of a book that covers the lifestyles of today with the history-in-brief of the area being covered. In addition to images that will of course be the major focus of the book, the historical references and stories based on in-person interviews of local residents will add color, texture and public interest in the content.

But the real feature of this book is the locations that will be covered. I won’t be just exploring the major roads and common tourist areas, but also exploring the lesser know – perhaps even unknown – areas of Canada. From the rich mining history of Cumberland; the rags to riches to rags to perhaps future riches story of Gold River; the BC Interior (northern) region that offers great stories of destruction by forest fires and the rebirth of thriving communities. How about the little community in Saskatchewan that features, of all things, a miniature desert! Sceptre and Sukanen in SK are just two smaller communities that I plan to visit and capture.

From West Coast to East Coast – covering British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland – all in a single hard cover book that will be packed with quality images of the places and their peoples, as well as the best of stories that I can uncover from each area.

Depending on the amount of material, smaller editions covering specific provinces or regions of Canada may also be offered as subsets of the whole. Although these smaller editions might also contain more detailed information about specific regions. If your interests are more specific to the West Coast, you might find the BC/Alberta edition is enough for you, or perhaps you’ll like that one AND the National Edition.

In addition to these books, I also plan to explore another genre of specific personal interest, and explore the potential of the Creative Nude – as seen in uniquely Canadian settings – also covering the entire nation. These will be offered in smaller regional calendar style collections, individual prints, and of course the grand collection in at least one beautiful hard cover coffee table book style edition.

Thus the plans are set out for your consideration. The smaller editions, as they are ready will start out as self-published works through my Lulu, RedBubble, and Blurb storefronts. Be sure to check regularly for updates and see when the newest works are made available to browse and order! links will be featured on my main page, the Wilson Collection pages, and of course here on the blog under the heading Books and Calendars.

And of course the Blog itself will be filled with images, stories and videos that will be ONLY available here on the blog site. I might be moving to a subscription type of service soon where some content is open to the public, but some of the images and videos may only be available to paying members. I promise that membership will be very reasonable since the primary purpose is to help fund some of the travel costs and of course to also ensure that minors are not going to have easy access to some of the more mature content on this site.

Here’s the hard part though.   How do I find the talent?  That’s where the competition comes in!  Between now and the start of the tour (Dates TBD), anyone that feels that they would like to be a part of the collection, win some prizes and just have some fun will have the chance to enter the competition.  And note that the Collection is NOT restricted to perfect ‘model type’ bodies.  We are looking for a wide range of curvy to slim and it’s specific features that we see and like for various concepts that will win the competition.  So don’t think you have to 5’9″ or taller.  And I WON’T shoot anyone for the collection that is TOO thin.  Just normal men and women of all ages and sizes that have something different to offer and will make one image that we think will sell.

There will of course be rules, restrictions, and a small entry fee to ensure that the time investment to review your submissions and make a selection will be justified.

And some other exciting news on this topic!  I’ve received permission from Peter Geisheker of Positively Dark to use his music as background sounds for the savers!  I found the collection of music that Peter and Positively Dark offer for Free download, and have been listening to it in my car for several weeks now.  There are a variety of sounds that appeal to me, and I hope to my audience.  Influenced by Vangelis, Jarre, Oldfield and other old-school electronica artists that I grew up with, Peter’s music offers a combination of great guitar riffs mixed with varied electronic tracks, and blends well into the atmosphere of the room.  I’m sure that you will gain as much pleasure from the music as from the images!  You can also get the free music collection from www.entropymusic.com, so run over and check out the latest offerings from Positively Dark!
